3. Anti-Open Grazing Enforcement & Livestock Management Support

Under the Livestock & Anti-Open Grazing Law, the Corps is empowered to:

  • Prevent destruction of farms caused by open grazing

  • Stop clashes between herders and farmers

  • Regulate and support modern livestock farming practices

  • Manage environmental impacts of livestock movement and open grazing

  • Enforce policies that encourage healthy livestock production

  • Promote safe, controlled, and modern rearing methods

  • Ensure livestock owners obey all state livestock management regulations

This service helps maintain peace, food security, and agricultural stability across the state.


4. Crime Prevention, Surveillance & Rapid Response Patrols

Our officers carry out highly coordinated operations, including:

  • Day & night patrols across highways, forests, remote areas, and waterways

  • Surveillance of crime-prone zones

  • Prevention of kidnapping, robbery, cultism, cattle rustling, terrorism, and related offences

  • Quick response to distress calls and emergency incidents


5. Arrest, Investigation & Court Prosecution

Amotekun officers are legally empowered to:

  • Arrest offenders with or without a warrant where the law permits

  • Detain, search, and seize items connected to crimes

  • Profile, register, and investigate suspects

  • Execute court-issued warrants

  • Prosecute offenders directly in court in accordance with state laws

All enforcement is carried out within the framework of human rights and due process.


6. Disarmament & Weapons Recovery Operations

We undertake structured operations to:

  • Disarm unauthorized persons carrying weapons

  • Recover illegal arms and dangerous equipment

  • Reduce the circulation of deadly weapons in local communities


7. Rescue, Humanitarian & Emergency Support

Amotekun provides urgent support and assistance to:

  • Crime victims
